CAPCO Brought Door-to-Door Services to Member Companies in Fujian

On October 16th, 2013, a Seminar with focus on Communication Skills with Media was jointly organized by China Association for Public Companies (CAPCO) and Fujian Provincial Association for Public Companies. This event was CAPCO’s first attempt to provide "door-to-door service" for it members. The Seminar aimed at improving the ability of senior executives of listed companies to communicate with the media and helping enterprises respond to public opinions so as to further enhance the corporate images and improve investor relations.

Mr. Peng Song, Chief Analyst of Public Opinion Center of Chinese Listed Companies gave a speech on " Public Companies: How to Manage Negative Public Opinions ".

Mr. Xia Chunxi, Chairman of Beijing Century Longwon Brand Consulting shared with participants how companies like Suning, GOME, Jiaduobao and Skyworth media faced reputation crisis and concluded the Do’s and Dont’s in media crisis management.

In the closing ceremony, CAPCO Vice Chairman and Secretary-General An Qingsong pointed out the Internet economy is transforming the world profoundly. The application of social media and “we media” is also changing the public opinion environment. Therefore, for listed companies, in particular those listed on SME and GEM markets, to avoid media is not the best policy. It is worth considering how to deal with the media squarely and effectively.

Public companies in Fujian responded positively with all of 28 SME and GEM-listed companies having applied and many companies having sent out Secretaries of the Boards and Heads of Media Affairs. Many representatives were still discussing the lecture’s topics after the meeting.

CAPCO will host similar Seminar in various provinces to provide Door-to-Door Services to its members.
