CAPCO Brought Door-to-Door Service to Member Companies in Shanxi Province

Workshop on Growth Environment and Risk Management of Public Companies

held in Shanxi, May 14-15, 2014


Workshop on Growth Environment and Risk Management of Public Companies, jointly organized by China Association for Public Companies (CAPCO), Shanxi Securities Regulatory Bureau and Shanxi Association for Public Companies, was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, from May 14 to 15, 2014. The Workshop is an important part of CAPCO’s Door-to-Door Service Delivery to Shanxi, tailor-made to meet the needs of the public companies there. Industry experts and officials from regulatory body covered a series of topics ranging from “SOE reform trends”, “newly released M&A ordinance”, “risk management of public companies” to “the development of the coal industry”. Chairmen of the Boards, General Managers, Secretaries to the Boards and other senior executives from all the thirty-four public companies in Shanxi attended the Workshop. They gave warm welcome to the experts and officials and felt the policy interpretation and case studies brought by them were most useful and of utmost importance to the companies.


CAPCO also brought publicity expertise to four member companies in Shanxi. With CAPCO’s help, reporters from the major financial newspapers like China Securities Journal, Securities Times, Shanghai Securities Journal, Securities Daily and CBN—the leading financial television visited Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co. Ltd (SZ000825), Shanxi Securities Co. Ltd (SZ002500), Shanxi Xinghuacun Fen Wine Factory Co. Ltd (SH600809) and Shanxi Xishan Coal and Electricity Power Co. Ltd (SZ000983) and interviewed their Chairmen/CEOs. Both the newsmen and the senior executives from the companies appreciated the opportunity to exchange views and get better understanding with the other side. CAPCO’s efforts to provide a good platform to facilitate communications between news media and entrepreneurs were well received.


Mr. YAO Feng, the Executive Vice Chairman of CAPCO, said in his speech that “Door-to-Door Service Delivery” is a brand service CAPCO offered to its member companies around the country. Such à la carte services can be adjusted to local realities, and therefore can make a difference to the companies in the region. He encouraged the member companies in Shanxi to share their growth experience and corporate governance practices with each other. Mr. YAO also listened to the woes and worries of the leading coal companies in Shanxi which used to be economic backbones in the region. The coal industry had met with development bottlenecks and was waiting for rejuvenation.


The 5-day Door-to-Door Service Delivery to Shanxi companies was proved to be another success in CAPCO’s Door-to-Door Service Delivery to its members. This is the 7th time of its kind. As planned, CAPCO will bring tailor-made service to its member companies in 10 provinces by the end of this year.
